Hey everyone,
My name is Seth Abelson and I’m a second year applied economics major. I’m originally from London, Ontario and my interests include playing poker, watching the NFL, and playing hockey. At Queen’s, I’m involved in Queen’s Model Parliament and am currently working to ratify a new club. I am interested in employee relations because we will all experience work environments in the future and I would like to learn practical information that can be useful later on in my career.
Hi Seth! I am also in Applied Economics. How do you think this course can relate to your future interest in APEC? It’s interesting that you are making your club official. I would imagine this course could apply to it by giving you an understanding of working with execs in your club, and understanding the dynamics of other working environments.

Hey Margret, that’s cool we have probably had some classes together. What are you in this semester? I think that this course will definitely provide practical skills that can be used in any workplace. So for applied economics, this class can be used while working in government, or a bank etc… For my club, I believe this course will give me a greater understanding of power dynamics between execs and other members, and how to ensure that every member feels heard regardless of position.

Hey Seth, I am also working towards a degree in Applied Economics! I bet we have some classes together. I am also excited for this course as it provides me with relevant applicable knowledge that I will be able to use throughout my professional career. How did you like the SanFran game this weekend? I hope you aren’t a Rodgers fan!

Hey Evan, that’s such a coincidence that we’re in the same degree wow! What classes are you in this semester? I was in Econ 250, Econ 222, and Econ 239 last semester and could definitely have used a group member like yourself! I thoroughly enjoyed the 49er’s game and especially how they covered the spread. We should maybe watch the Superbowl together or something. Whats your KIK so we can keep in touch?

Hi Seth! Looks like the two of us were in QMP! I’m a second year political science major, so I don’t think we would share any of the same classes other than this. I’m not trying to start a club, but i’m always looking to get more involved. I’ve participated in a few clubs during my time at Queen’s and if you need more members for what your starting, let me know. I’m pretty much in EMPR for the same reason you are, well that and I loved the EMPR course I took in first year.
Have a good night,
Mitch

Hi Seth,
I think you were in room 608 with my dear friends at QMP! I might’ve visited that room a couple of times… What a coincidence! I hope you learned a lot about of the legislative process during that experience. What kind of club are you trying to ratify? Is it similar to QMP, but from an economic perspective? Whatever it is, good luck on that journey and I hope you enjoy the rest of the course!
